Our local high school has a great end of the year program for seniors. Instead of attending their last 3 weeks of classes, they can intern full time at a local business. This year, I am mentoring my cousin Alyssa. She is going away to college in six weeks so it has been a real pleasure spending time with her as well as showing how a small business works.
Today we had fun playing with formulations. We found that Xanthum Gum absolutely does not work in oil based formulas. I know people use it in oils...but we didn't like the performance. It failed to suspend fine salts and gave a gooey glide to our scrub. I had visions of the Bath Jelly Product Trial.
Alyssa then had tremendous success making the formula below. I even get a batch to take home!
Alyssa's Foaming Salt Scrub (it suspends!)
Ingredients:
4 oz Crafter's Choice Shower Gel
4 oz Crafter's Choice European Fine Sea Salt
1/2 teaspoon Xanthum Gum
2.5 ml Crafter's Choice Eucalyptus Spearmint EO Blend
1/2 teaspoon Crafter's Choice 24K Gold Powder Mica
1/2 teaspoon Crafter's Choice Silver Powder Mica
Package:
8 oz Clear PET Basic Jar
89/400 White Straight Top
Directions:
Blend all ingredients and package. Scrub has a wonderful foam and beautiful champagne color. Salts suspend beautifully.
Wishing You Much Success!

Debbie, could you make this recipe with the bubble wash concentrate for the shower gel part? mixing it up first, of course.
What kind of cap did you use with this? pump or something else. Would yu use this with a malibu bottle?
This is a huge favorite of mine. It's easy to make and turns out great. I made this in various scents and colors and gave it for Christmas gifts. Everyone loved it.
