  • Davie's Gate Powder Sugar Bath Soak

Davie's Gate makes an interesting product called
Powder Sugar Bath Soak. I decided to buy this as a test product because I think the concept was really interesting. I have not seen anything like it in our area...and the package is cute!

The container is a simple All Spice Metal Can with an adorable pink glossy label. The bow has an elastic band on the back and is held in place with a dot of glue in the front under the actual bow. Inside, the product is very white. It is very fine ...like powdered sugar, corn starch and baking soda.

Last night I took a bath with this product and found it gave a great feel to my bath water. My skin with a nice after feel. I used about double the recommended amount of 2 Tablespoons per bath. The pink grapefruit scent was very refreshing.

For those that are interested, I here is the ingredient label provided on the Davie's Gate website.

This product sells retail at a price of 3 oz $9.00 and 18 oz $21.00

I find this to be such an interesting product concept because I never considered adding powdered sugar to my bath.

I hope this product can provide you with ideas for your own line!

    Wishing You Much Success!

  1. I'd be reluctant to add sugar to bath water - it could cause trouble with one's lady parts.

Wow - when I hear those ingredients, I hear "yeast infection". I thought sugar was a big fat no-no in a bathtub.

While you are putting some really cute ideas out there, where are we suppose to get the "cute" packaging?

    Anonymous--

It's been a while since I looked, but I was researching can-type packaging for something I make and I did find a number of options. Some were infeasible, like requiring the ordering of multiple pallet-sized quantities but others were available in crafter amounts. Best wishes on the hunt!

Would you use this during mosquito season or around bees?
    Love the packaging!

I am thankful to Debbie that she cared to shared it with us! Some of you sound more like complainers...This was meant to spark inspiration, use it for your own bath salts if the ingredients don't suit you. sheesh!

I think the product idea is very unique and would like to thank Deb for sharing. However, I don't see the other posters as complainers. I see them as making valid points for personal health and safety. I did not think about the possible effects until I read those comments. Thanks to everyone for sharing. :) It gives us something to think about...

Great concept but not so good for the health of our girlie bits. Sugar = yeast. But if "Davie" is indeed a man, he wouldn't have thought of that or maybe didn't even know about the possibility. Still a great idea and the can is awesome!
